Simply Donuts started because of a donuts craving in Kampala. It started in 2018 as an initiative of University Discipleship Movement to provide quality donuts, provide mentorship, internship and employment opportunities to new graduates from local universities, as well as raise money to support its vision. Brady and Alicia Searl both serving as missionaries with WGM and helping with UDM offered to help with their experience. Alicia offered to train the new personnel with her greatly appreciated recipes. Brady volunteered to use his business experience to provide mentorship and leadership to Simply Donuts. Seeing how promising the business was, Brady requested to become a shareholder in Simply Donuts.

Simply Donuts makes a light and fluffy yeast based donuts that are very different from the traditional dense donuts typically found in Uganda. We have a delicious variety of donuts from our standard Glaze donuts to our customer favorite, Maple glaze.

Simply Donuts believes if our business is thriving our community should thrive as well. We are partnered with University Discipleship Movement, which is an organization in Kampala, Uganda that walks alongside University students by providing evangelism, discipleship, leadership development, social justice and missions. Simply Donuts is fully committed to providing quality employment for Ugandans. Employment that will give them a sense of pride in what they do, all while providing a fair wage and marketplace mentorship.
